As an instructor & guide having 30 years experience of both single and two handed fly fishing Thomas Berggren has, since a few years back, started a fishery. A fishery that has developed into a Loop Fly Fishing School. The location of Lilla Malma Fishery is just outside Malmkoping, approximately 30 minutes drive from Stockholm-Skavsta (NYO) Airport in Sweden. Here at our fly fishing school you have the possibility to graduate directly by the fishing water. The casting training is parallel to practical fly fishing and as an instructor it’s wonderful to see the students face after a dazed fight and then the smile when we establish the fact of 8 kg rainbow trout. If you are a beginner and would like to take a short cut to become a skilful fly fisherman, take the way via Thomas Berggren. If you have some experience, we arrange advanced fly-fishing courses for you.

The season at Lilla Malma Fly Fishing School is during the spring and autumn time and the tuition is mainly for single hand rod. Beside the courses at Lilla Malma you can book Thomas for tuition or personal instructions of casting with two handed rod. Thomas specialty is the underhand technique with shooting heads developed by Goran Andersson. “To learn casting with a fly rod is almost the same as to learn riding a bicycle, it doesn’t look much until you've found the balance. As an alternative to the traditional Fly Fishing Courses.
Book a Fly Fishing Day with an Instructor.
This is a easy way of learning. It doesn't matter what experience and skills you have, everyone can participate. Admittedly it's better if you have some experience to get the best benefit. This alternative is also suitable for the experienced fly fisher. Remember you can always learn a little bit more! Even if you consider your self as an good fly fisher and caster. Of course! If you are able to manage a proper loop and hit the target at the distance of 25 meter you are a good caster, but still a good instructor can help you reach longer distance. The instructor can also help you improve your casting technique and adjust it to more advanced technique, an additional dimension to fly fishing. If you are fully satisfied with your distance and only want to spend time, practising presentation technique, it will be so. You decide what the instructor should teach. 

My thought is! You are coming to Lilla Malma Fishery for a day of fly fishing and there are an instructor at the Fishery who circulate between the participants. This is a "tailor made" tuition, and you are the tailor who decide the focus. Don't spend time listening at things you already know.

Rent the Fishery
You can rent the Fishery exclusively for your self or a group of maximum 8 persons. The price for one day including accommodation in a country estate and 2 hours tuition with a certified instructor is 800 Euro. The Fishery is rather fully booked so you have to apply and make an inquiry by e-mail in advance. 


Biggest Rainbow trout last season was 7,5 kg. There are fish up to 9 - 10 kg.
